We are seeking a Junior Research Technician/assistant to join our dynamic research team at the Baruch S. Blumberg Institute (BSBI) located at PA Biotech Center, in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. The role will support a project in Biospecimen science for developing a urine-DNA based liquid biopsy for cancer precision medicine. We are seeking a highly motivated and independent team player with strong troubleshooting capabilities and willingness to learn. Interested candidates should be able to utilize resources efficiently and possess strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US and have a background in molecular biology.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Applicants must have a BS in Life Sciences/Biology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry or related field.
• Detailed-oriented, proficiency in PCR and other basic molecular biology techniques such as technologies needed for next generation sequencing with high accuracy and reproducibility.
• Ability to perform experiments independently and to interpret and communicate results in a fast-paced team environment while paying attention to project timelines & priorities.
• Highly motivated and proactive.
• Ability to work effectively and utilize resources efficiently coupled with strong organizational, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as standard operating procedures, instructions, and manuals.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot in a variety of situations.
• Must possess excellent computer literacy skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
