Nobel Laureate Dr. Drew Weissman (center, with necktie) presenting in 2023 at the Blumberg Institute. Dr. Weissman, the Roberts Family Professor of Vaccine Research at the University of Pennsylvania, delivered the Distinguished Speaker Seminar at the Blumberg Institute on March 24, 2023. Less than seven months later, Dr. Weissman was awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology, along with Katalin Karikó, PhD, adjunct professor of neurosurgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
